June 2021 – First face to face meeting for Beckenham businesses in over a year

It has been a while but the members of this Beckenham based business networking group were certainly pleased to be back in the same room!

It was a members only meeting for our first foray back to face to face.  We all more or less managed to remember the format – with only a little prompting required from Lindie, our Chair, on keeping our 60 second presentations to time!

Our June meeting also marked a welcome return for our ‘Best One Minute’ award.  Our last winner, Alka from Critical Mission Computing, presented the trophy to one of our newest members.  Christina Raven is an Osteopath (who also sings) and it will be her turn to keep her ears pinned back for her favourite 60 seconds next month.  And no, your eyes are not deceiving you, it is an exceptionally small trophy! But very prestigious!!

The 10 minutes…

Brought to us this month by Charley Bennett from Short Films London.  Charley told us about an exciting new charitable project she is developing to help young children diagnosed with serious illnesses and their families.

She shared details of her own family experience of being in this situation which is what prompted her and husband Jon to take on this ambitious piece of work.

The presentation was really thought provoking and moving.  But it was also lovely to hear about such a positive initiative in the pipeline.

Matchmaking…

  • Kate from Utility Warehouse would like to speak to people with hot tubs!!  They can increase your energy bills and Kate may be able to save you some money!
  • Karen from Grugeon Reynolds  thanked Maria from The HR Dept for her HR support through the pandemic.
  • Jo from Mortgage Confidence thanked Adjoa for her business and Alex, Fiona and Maria for their referrals.
