9th September – time for networking now that back to school is done!

With the schools now back, it seemed a good time to refocus our business networking efforts in Beckenham. And that’s just what 24 business women did at Laptops and Lipstick’s September meeting. We had two members renew their membership this month – great news in the current climate and testament to the success and value of the group. Lovely to see visitors Athy Watson from St James Place and Clare Hind from Clare Marie Design. Also, Cora Corrigan from WPA and Dominique Capon from Tutor Doctor Bromley. And last but not least, we were joined by Estate Agent Melanie Attwater and Arbonne Consultant, Simone Mahoney.
As usual when we meet online, we began with a formal welcome from our host, Lindie Van As from Zulu Graphix. Lindie explained a bit about the group and the format. Then we moved into breakout rooms for some informal mingling. This gives a chance for attendees new and old to chat more easily. Next it’s back in the main Zoom room for our 1 minutes and the 10 minute presentation. Followed by the Let’s Talk Business round – where we exchange referrals and introductions and organise 121s.

The 10 minutes
It’s a huge thank you to Coach Jenni Hallam, who stepped in at short notice and gave a fascinating presentation on time and our attitudes to it. We were all intrigued to find out whether we are ‘in time’ or ‘through time’ people and the implications of each. For many of us, it shed light on the habits and approach of friends and family!
