4th March 2020 – nominated charity search continues

Busy business networking meetingA busy March networking meeting with visits from a further two charities interested in working with us in 2020/21.  We were delighted to meet Clair Collins from Ada and Albert and to welcome back Jane Barnes from Bromley Mencap.

Fiona Ross from Business Junction and Lucy McGeough from Vanity Lab London also joined the meeting as visitors.  Plus Charley Bennett from Short Films, Isobel Bruce from New Horizons and Emma Yeo from Emma’s Pottery parlour.  Finally, Chiropodist Rosie Birkett and self defence experts Nikki Cox and Victoria Boden.  Phew!  Quite the houseful!

The 10 minutes…

Food for thought from guest speakers Tom Richardson and Jay Evans from St James Place about pensions.   They left us all reflecting on what we want our retirement to look like and whether we are setting aside enough to make that a reality.  They also had some good stats.  It was slightly alarming to hear that 24 percent of Millennials have no pension.  But even more worrying that there are apparently 191 people over 100 still driving in the UK!

Quote of the month…

“I’m sorry, I’ll have to go on,” Accountant Karen Cheeseman very politely disregarded the 60 second timer this month.  But, to be fair, she did have good stories!

Matchmaking…

  • Julia from Truly Yours Travel reminded us that she’s a good source of gift ideas and can arrange days out, theatre trip, sports events and even helicopter rides.
  • Lindie bought a massage voucher for a friend from Alex at Therapia.
  • Debbie from the Address Estate Agency asked to be referred to sellers who are having trouble selling their property.
