3rd July 2019

Three tables of fabulous business women in the room today sharing advice, wisdom and of course referrals.

The holiday season has started so we had several subs in the shape of Trauma Coach, Beverley Webb, Yoga Instructor, Jayne Harman, Cake Designer, Shanna Jarvis and Branded Clothing expert, Louise Mercer.  Hats off to our four holidaying members for arranging new faces for the group in their absence 🙂

This month’s ‘best 60 seconds’ was awarded to Adjoa Djan-Krofa  from Pishon Gold Solicitors by last month’s winner, Kate Thompson who judged us on our pizzazz!!

The 10 minutes…

It was great to hear from First Aid trainer, Keri Hartwright from Safety First.   Keri is a old friend of Laptops and Lipstick, having delivered First Aid training to a number of us.

Frighteningly, only one in five of us would know what to do in an emergency.  And there are a number of reasons why people don’t get involved, including fear of making things worse, worry about getting it wrong, anxiety about infection and concern over possible litigation.  But Keri’s number one piece of advice is that it’s always better to do something than to do nothing.

It was also really useful to get an update on our reporting obligations as employers as well as an insight into the injury of our times – the avocado accident!!

Quote of the month…

“How about top commas?” Lindie from Zulu Graphix continued her campaign to rebrand apostrophes to something more relatable

Matchmaking…

  • Coach Jenni Hallam is offering a one hour session to women looking for a shot of clarity or confidence.
  • Jo from Mortgage Confidence thanked Solicitor Adjoa Djan-Krofa for a referral and was able to give one in return
  • Fiona from SMART Nutrition & Fitness is running two Mediterranean Cookery courses in the Autumn.
