1st May 2019

Great energy in the room this month.  We were asked to use props in our one minute presentations and really rose to the challenge!  We had energy drinks, calculators, aspirin, several bottles of champagne and even a skull!  But this month’s ‘best one minute’ prize went to Michelle Simpson from Chartwell Cancer Trust.  Michelle managed to change into the Chartwell mascot costume in the middle of the meeting – completely unnoticed by us all!!

We welcomed back Wealth Management Specialist, Alison Wright for a second visit.  Also Chartered Building Surveyor, Claire De Vos, subbed for Adjoa.  And hats off to them both for entering into the spirit of the meeting and producing prop related one minutes off the cuff!

The 10 minutes…

Mary from Mary & Mick Graphic Design has kindly taken responsibility for organising the 10 minute presentations and decided to lead by example by taking us through the journey of a rebrand.

She used Semaphore PR as her example and it was great to see the factors that get taken into account, the development process and the huge amount of imagination that this creative team bring to their designs.

It was also interesting to hear about her and Mick’s advertising agency experience and some of the big names they have worked with in the past.

Quote of the month…

“This is someone who upset me,” Osteopath, Denise Callaghan joked about bringing a skull as her prop!!

Matchmaking…

  • Alka from Critical Mission Computing would like introductions to companies considering e-commerce websites.
  • Mary had three referrals for Lindie from Zulu Graphix.
  • Fiona passed a referral to Clinical Hypnotherapist, Lynda Hudson, for a client who is struggling awfully with grief.
